  1. Zero Trust Data Security

Role-based Access Control (RBAC)

RBAC is a fundamental aspect of both a zero-trust strategy and data security. By limiting permissions based on role, IT can effectively prohibit undesired results from unintentional or intentional operations.

However, applying an effective RBAC strategy is a challenging task that can benefit from granularity and ease of implementation. Granularity allows an administrator to grant precise permissions based on the individual user or group authenticated. And ease of implementation allows for dynamic changes, revocation, and scaling of the user base.

In this lab, we are going to create the following:

  • A new role called Global VMware Admins

  • Explore the granular permissions

  • How to add a user to a role

Let's get started!
